Tripolis Park Office
Hollandse Nieuwe created an office space where seamless journeys, meaningful connections, and spontaneous encounters take center stage – both architecturally and experientially. The interior unites the listed building by Aldo van Eyck with the contemporary extension by MVRDV at Tripolis park. The result is a dynamic, welcoming, and high-end environment that reflects the specific identity of its users.

Natural encounters
To connect the iconic 1967 Van Eyck office building with the new structure, we introduced a “green lung”, a metaphorical and physical connector. This natural route integrates the historic building with the new, allowing users to move effortlessly between the two. It’s a key feature of a new routing strategy that we developed to support orientation, connectivity, and interaction. Along this path, we created distinctive ‘landing zones’: spaces for meeting, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. Like a beating heart, the routing stimulates movement and connection. A standout example is the ‘stonehenges’, where custom-designed light installations create memorable spaces that inspire and elevate the user experience.

Strategic zoning, one unified experience
We designed three distinct zones:
- A hospitality zone for reception, coffee bars, and informal meetings
- A stimulating zone for collaboration
- A serene zone for focused, concentrated work
Although each zone has a different function and atmosphere, they are unified by a consistent and recognizable material palette. Natural oak and bio terrazzo create a warm, welcoming ambiance without compromising on a refined and high-end character.

Ambitiously sustainable
As carefully crafted as the atmosphere and detailing are, equal attention was given to creating a sustainable interior. This begins with reusing as much existing furniture, such as conference chairs and desks as possible, but extends well beyond that. To ensure a positive impact on both the environment and the health of users, materials were selected based on their origin, recyclability, and environmental footprint. For example, all carpentry panels are made from recycled materials. These and other sustainable choices contributed to the project receiving a BREEAM Outstanding certification.

Wellbeing at its core
A pleasant and inspiring interior experience is essential to a sustainable working environment. We maximized the use of daylight, optimized acoustics, provided views to the outdoors, and integrated greenery throughout the interior. These design elements helped earn the space a WELL Platinum certificate. Dedicated spaces for yoga and meditation further enhance the wellbeing of users, while additional staircases were added to encourage physical movement.
The interior exudes an open and warm ambiance, accentuated by natural oak finishes. Art also plays a vital role, with custom-designed walls acting as canvases for both permanent and rotating collections, each piece carefully curated and positioned to inspire.
